IVECO BUS, a recognized leader in the design and manufacture of passenger transport vehicles, and Saipol, a pioneer in agricultural-based biofuel production, announce the signing of a partnership aimed at facilitating the energy transition of school and intercity transport.
As part of its partnership with Saipol, IVECO BUS has certified its iconic CROSSWAY (Tector 7) model for B100 and is therefore offering coach operators the option of choosing a reliable and versatile vehicle running on an alternative fuel made from 100% French rapeseed, at a total cost of ownership close to that of conventional diesel. This is a major step forward in reducing the carbon footprint of transport in France, as the use of Oleo100 enables vehicle CO₂ emissions to be reduced by at least 60% compared with diesel.
According to Claire Duhamel, Managing Director of Oleo100, “This collaboration opens up exciting new opportunities for the passenger transport sector in France. We are convinced that Oleo100 is the key to a successful energy transition, providing an immediately available accessible, sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative.”
“We are proud to announce this partnership, which confirms our commitment to sustainable transport development and enables us to offer a new range of solutions to meet our customers’ needs,” adds Solène Grange, Managing Director of IVECO France.
– THE SHARED OBJECTIVES OF IVECO BUS AND SAIPOL ARE TWOfold
• Decarbonize school and intercity transport: by making the transition to environmentally friendly modes of transport more accessible. This simple, fast and affordable solution, recognized for its availability and reliability, aims to accelerate the shift to biofuels.
• Promote a renewable fuel produced from French agriculture for use across mainland France: The alliance between these two players provides concrete support for the development of an energy value chain based on French agriculture, helping passenger transport operators in their necessary energy transition.
Through this partnership, these two leaders in their respective fields are turning their commitment to sustainable development into concrete action and thereby helping to reduce GHG emissions from the transport sector in France.
