OBJECTIVE 1 – PROMOTE, SUPPORT AND REWARD SUSTAINABLE FARMING PRACTICES

🎯 2030 target: Source and promote 1 million tonnes of responsibly produced French oilseed crops every year*

Saipol is committed to promoting, supporting and rewarding the adoption of sustainable and traceable farming practices across its upstream agricultural supply chain, helping its customers accelerate their transition towards a more positive environmental impact.

Empreinte by Saipol

Empreinte by Saipol is the company’s sustainable oilseed value chain programme.

It promotes farming practices that deliver positive environmental outcomes by combining economic performance, the agroecological transition and value creation across the entire value chain.

Farmers participating in the programme receive additional remuneration to reward the efforts they make to improve their farming practices—for example, by reducing their carbon footprint and/or preserving natural resources and biodiversity. The programme relies on a network of partner grain collection organisations to support farmers and roll out these practices across the field.

Through enhanced traceability, Empreinte by Saipol provides industrial customers with sustainably produced French-grown raw materials that make a measurable contribution to their CSR and decarbonisation objectives.

*each year, Saipol processes approximately 3 million tonnes of oilseeds.

OBJECTIVE 2 – PROMOTE LOCAL AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION

🎯 2030 target: Maintain at least 60% French-grown seeds processed in Saipol’s French plants

Saipol supports local value chains by giving priority to sourcing French-grown oilseeds for its production sites in France whenever they are available.

The company is also committed to accelerating the development of sustainable local value chains.

All Saipol production sites are located in France, with several facilities specialising in the processing of French-grown rapeseed and sunflower seeds, including those in Lezoux, Le Mériot and Verdun.

Saipol works closely with its partner grain collection organisations to ensure a reliable supply of high-quality, traceable oilseeds. Regular exchanges, site visits and communication initiatives help strengthen these long-term partnerships and support the development of sustainable value chains in France.

The proportion of French-grown oilseeds processed by Saipol varies each year depending on harvest conditions and the company’s ability to source available volumes. Saipol regularly communicates on the share of French-grown oilseeds it processes, notably through the Avril Group’s Annual Report and dedicated videos.

OBJECTIVE 3 – ENHANCE THE ATTRACTIVENESS OF THE FARMING PROFESSION

🎯2030 target: Support initiatives that enhance the attractiveness of farming careers

The farming profession is evolving in response to growing economic, climate and societal challenges.

Working alongside agricultural value chains and through initiatives involving teachers and schools, Saipol is committed to supporting the long-term sustainability of the farming profession, enhancing recognition of farmers, and encouraging future generations to pursue careers in agriculture.

CoFarming Partnership

The CoFarming association promotes collaborative and innovative agriculture by fostering knowledge sharing, networking and the development of new initiatives.

As a partner, Saipol supports this local ecosystem and helps promote a more connected and attractive farming profession for future generations.

Promoting the Farming Profession

Through its communications and publications, Saipol highlights the essential role of farmers, their expertise and their positive contribution to society.

By sharing knowledge about oilseed crops and showcasing new value-creating agricultural value chains, Saipol helps illustrate the reality of modern agriculture: sustainable, innovative and forward-looking.
