Agriculture and the environment are closely linked, and the choices we make regarding farming practices can have either a positive or negative impact. The challenges posed by climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution have highlighted the need to use new solutions, whether already in place or being made available, to produce and consume more sustainably.
It was against this backdrop that, on February 6, 2023, the conference “Demain l’Agriculture – Environmental Transition: What Practices, What Financing?” took place, co-organized by Saipol and Les Echos Le Parisien. It was an opportunity for discussion and debate on the key challenges facing agriculture, energy and the environmental transition.
Various experts took turns addressing the challenges faced by farmers: carbon storage, agricultural markets, food sovereignty and biofuel production. Today, solutions already exist for the agricultural sector, in terms of financing the transition and evolving farming practices towards more sustainable and, above all, more resilient agriculture in the face of unforeseen events.
