200,000 tonnes of ‘Empreinte by Saipol’ seeds processed — a key first step towards 1 million tonnes by 2030

Article rédigé le 1 December 2025
Monday, December 1, 2025 – Saipol, in line with Avril's strategy, announces the first results of its Empreinte by Saipol program, with 200,000 tonnes of rapeseed and sunflower seeds traced according to committed agroecological practices and processed into oilseed products. This volume already represents 20% of the annual target for 2030: 1 million tonnes collected and valorized.

This momentum relies on the engagement of collecting organizations (COs) alongside Saipol and reflects a shared ambition: to support the transition to regenerative agriculture and low-carbon practices while providing higher remuneration to committed farmers through the sale of more sustainable oilseed products (vegetable oils, biofuels, meal, glycerin). With an average premium of €35/tonne, over €7 million has been redistributed upstream in addition to the seed price to support sustainable practices.

Strong synergy between Empreinte by Saipol and collecting organizations programs

This first milestone demonstrates the collective commitment of stakeholders to
strengthen remuneration for farmers engaged in sustainable practices. It also reflects the synergy with CO programs deployed across crop rotations and offers an open and accessible solution for COs without a structured program to engage and guide their members towards agroecological practices.

According to Loïc Godnair, Upstream Business Developer:

“This first report confirms the strength of the Empreinte by Saipol model: robust, easy to deploy, and designed to sustainably support collecting organizations and their members.
We are proud to have partnered with ten collecting organizations 1: Agrotrade, Axéréal, Caproga, Cereapro, Cérévia, NatUp, Océalia, Seine-Yonne, Soufflet Agriculture, and Vivescia — in the past twelve months. Together, we have launched a genuine collective dynamic to trace oilseed practices and generate upstream value. We will continue to scale up volumes with them and welcome new partners to reach the 1 million tonne target by 2030.”

About Empreinte by Saipol partners

Agrotrade

Founded in 2009 by Laurent Guédon in Ain, Agrotrade markets cereals, oilseeds, and protein crops through short supply chains with a transparent and efficient approach. With over 500,000 tonnes sold annually, the company relies on a network of 1,500 partner farmers across Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Centre-Val de Loire, and Grand Est. A pioneer in low-GHG oilseed production, Agrotrade has contributed to valorizing more than 100,000 tonnes of low-GHG oilseeds since 2020, redistributing over €4 million to farmers. Empreinte by Saipol continues this long-standing commitment to supporting farmers’ virtuous practices without creating additional constraints.

Axéréal

CultivUp Regénératif: a historical pioneer, premium by positioning, reliable by proof. With over 1 million tonnes collected under its regenerative agriculture program, Axéréal relies on co-construction with farmers and industrial clients. CultivUp Regénératif supports 1,600 farmers (200,000 ha) in adopting
sustainable practices to reduce their carbon footprint while ensuring economic performance in traced value chains. Key decarbonization levers, including legume introduction, are particularly promoted through the plant protein sector in partnership with Intact.

Caproga

Located in the heart of Gâtinais, Caproga has been supporting more than 1,200 farmers for decades in collection, storage, and valorization of their production. Actively promoting regenerative agriculture, the cooperative helps members measure and enhance the carbon impact of their practices. Its field support team works daily to identify levers of action and strengthen this promising sector. Caproga asserts its role as an engaged and innovative partner for efficient and responsible agriculture.

Céréapro

Active for over 10 years in the oilseed and protein crop sector, Céréapro brings recognized expertise to support farmers in sustainable valorization. Early adopters, the company was among the first in 2020 to obtain certifications supporting Saipol’s Empreinte by Saipol development, contributing to a transparent low-carbon model. With a dedicated team member for program follow-up, nearly 25% of Céréapro’s volume is now marketed through Empreinte by Saipol, demonstrating long-term commitment to sustainable, value-creating farming practices.

Cérévia

Cérévia is a marketing union of four major agricultural cooperatives: Bourgogne du Sud, Dijon Céréales, GIE Terre Comtoise, and Oxyane. Since 2024, it has deployed the low-carbon program Vert By Cérévia to support the transition to more sustainable and regenerative practices. The program provides technical support, carbon indicator tracking, agronomic levers, and economic valorization. Partnering with Empreinte by Saipol strengthens Cérévia’s goal to offer members new revenue opportunities while supporting sustainable systems.

Natup

NatUp has long supported members in evolving agronomic practices and collaborates with partners like Saipol to valorize and market these initiatives. Over 500 members are engaged in the low-GHG rapeseed program launched in 2020. Through Empreinte by Saipol, farmers can implement key levers such as organic matter application and high-performance cover crops. NatUp also participates in ambitious projects like the Low-Carbon Label, Covalo Eure & Eure-et-Loir, and soil diagnostics.

Océalia

For three years, Océalia has developed the certified agroecological transition program “Le Sillon Responsable,” based on field diagnostics and tailored action plans. Supporting 800 engaged members, the program promotes economic valorization of production. Empreinte by Saipol aligns with this initiative, providing concrete economic returns for responsible practices.

Seine-Yonne

A recognized player in premium supply chains, Seine-Yonne (union of cooperatives 110 Bourgogne, Terres Bocage Gâtinais and Ynovae) combines agronomic expertise and historical presence with farmers in Burgundy and Île-de-France. Its Trajectoire program offers close support with measurable, auditable practices to optimize valorization of wheat, barley, sunflower, rapeseed, and mustard crops. Empreinte by Saipol opens reinforced economic prospects for oilseed farmers.

Soufflet Agriculture

Through its “Performances” program, Soufflet Agriculture  supports farmers implementing regenerative practices. The program focuses on environmental, agronomic, and economic performance, offering diagnostics, training, technical references, tailored inputs (cover crops, low-carbon fertilizers, biostimulants), and value chain support. In partnership with Avril, the program enables farmers to
monetize regenerative agriculture through dedicated premiums.

Vivescia

The partnership between Saipol and Groupe Vivescia has strengthened over the past two years with joint commitments in Empreinte by Saipol and TRANSITIONS by  VIVESCIA. TRANSITIONS supports 600 farmers in Northeast France for 500,000 tonnes of cereals and oil-protein crops. Based on three pillars—systemic agronomic framework, industrial client coalitions, and robust digital data—the collaboration aligns the plant and cereal sectors toward more sustainable agriculture, consistent with GHG Protocol, SBTi FLAG, and SAI Regen Ag standards.

About Empreinte by Saipol®

Empreinte by Saipol is a program designed to accelerate the agroecological transition along the entire oilseed value chain. It relies on sourcing seeds from regenerative and low-carbon agricultural practices and on the sale of traced oilseed products. Deployed with the support of engaged collecting organizations that provide local farmer support, the program addresses the structured supply needs of industrial players in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical sectors committed to climate trajectories and sourcing from sustainable French supply chains. By adding a premium to these sustainable seeds, Empreinte by Saipol directly generates value for farmers and actively supports their transition to more responsible practices. The program aims to trace and valorize 1 million tonnes of seeds per year by 2030.
