A project fully aligned with Avril's founding mission
Created by and for the agricultural community, Avril’s mission is to sustainably add value to French agricultural production. The acquisition by Saipol, a subsidiary of Avril, of the Champlor site from its current owner, Valtris, is fully aligned with this commitment and further strengthens the Group’s industrial footprint across France.
Located at the heart of one of France’s main rapeseed production areas, this facility enables Avril to secure and sustain the processing of French seeds within their production basins, in close connection with farmers and local agricultural cooperatives.
A concrete response to growing market needs
The products manufactured at the Verdun site are key levers to meet industrial customers’ expectations for traceable, sustainable and competitive vegetable oils. The integration of this site within Saipol will further reinforce this role.
A high-performance industrial asset and recognized expertise
This acquisition is part of Avril’s strategy to support and develop diversified, sustainable and competitive outlets for French oilseed production, while addressing food and decarbonization challenges. The site’s teams will continue their activities within Saipol, with a clear commitment to maintaining existing industrial know-how in support of the agricultural, food and energy transitions.
Jean-Philippe Puig, Avril CEO : « We are pleased to welcome the employees in Verdun and to associate them with our commitment to building sustainable, resilient and locally rooted value chains. By strengthening our presence at the heart of production areas, we reaffirm our long-term commitment to Serving the Earth, in line with our founding mission to add value to French agricultural production. »
