Empreinte by Saipol

With the Empreinte program, Saipol brings its expertise in sustainability and traceability of agricultural practices to bear in offering a full range of oilseed products.

Empreinte by Saipol

The Empreinte by Saipol range — comprising vegetable oils, oilcakes, glycerine, and energy products (like Oleo100 — low-GHG) — is aimed at industrial customers who wish to support sustainable agriculture. It enables them to take concrete action when sourcing raw materials by favoring decarbonized or sustainable products.

Empreinte by Saipol: a concrete, transparent and impactful solution for decarbonized products derived from virtuous agricultural practices

Companies’ expectations to meet their CSR, business or climate goals (CSRD, SBTi targets, etc.) now demand concrete and measurable commitments. But how do you effectively act on indirect emissions tied to a company’s activities (scope 3)? And how can you ensure that your raw material purchases genuinely support sustainable farming practices?

Empreinte by Saipol is a bridge between downstream sustainability requirements and concrete upstream actions.

Thanks to certified traceability and a robust value chain, Saipol helps its customers decarbonize their sourcing while generating value for producers.

Empreinte by Saipol — How does it work?

A structuring and federative expertise in sustainability and traceability

#1 – The strength of a proven collective

Since 2020, Saipol has structured sustainable agricultural sectors through its mastery of regulatory requirements and proximity to upstream farming. We are proud to have more than 15 partners and suppliers already engaged in Empreinte by Saipol, whom we support in creating their own programs. Through all the partners, Empreinte by Saipol benefits more than a thousand farmers producing rapeseed and sunflower in France.

#2 – Saipol’s traceability expertise, a strength for qualifying sustainability

Our expertise rests on:

  • Traceability: collection of parcel-level data via the digital tool OleoZE, and calculation of emission factors up to the finished product.

  • Sustainability: compliance with European frameworks (RED II, SBTi), auditability of practices, securing of origin.

  • Valorization of practices linked to agroecological transition: recognition of changed farming practices, calculation of avoided emissions, dedicated remuneration.

#3 – Quantified evidence

Since 2020, Saipol, a subsidiary of Avril, has worked for the upstream agricultural transition and its valorization, in line with its raison d’être “Servir La Terre.”
