Saipol is committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions to actively contribute to the fight against climate change, meet stakeholder expectations and strengthen the sustainability of its operations.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]

Heat Recovery and Biomass Boilers <\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2011, Saipol has also reduced the carbon footprint of its industrial sites through heat recovery systems and biomass boilers. Four sites are already equipped, with a new installation planned at Le M\u00e9riot by the end of 2029.<\/p>\n

These initiatives directly contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions from Saipol’s industrial operations (Scopes 1 and 2).<\/div><\/div>

Products derived from sustainable agricultural practices<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2019, Saipol has worked with upstream agricultural partners through OleoZE to promote rapeseed and sunflower crops produced using low-carbon farming practices. In 2025, this approach was reinforced with the Empreinte by Saipol<\/a> programme, bringing together grain collection partners around more sustainable agricultural practices. These initiatives help reduce Scope 3 emissions.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=””]In response to the impacts of climate change, Saipol is proactively assessing risks to ensure the continuity and resilience of its operations.<\/p>\n

This approach complements the company’s climate mitigation strategy, which focuses in particular on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions (see Objective 1 of Pillar 2), enabling Saipol to address both the causes and the consequences of climate change.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]

Anticipating the impacts of climate change on our business<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2023, an initial study assessed the climate-related risks facing Saipol’s industrial sites under a range of climate scenarios. From 2026 onwards, a more in-depth assessment will be carried out at a pilot site to support the development of a climate adaptation plan by 2030.<\/p>\n

At the same time, studies conducted in 2023 and 2024 assessed the exposure of agricultural supply chains in France and across Europe to climate-related risks. These assessments will help anticipate future changes and strengthen the resilience of the agricultural value chains.<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    In response to increasing pressure on soils, water resources and ecosystems, the company is taking action to reduce both its direct and indirect environmental impacts while enhancing the sustainability of its operations.[\/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space]

    \n<\/strong>More than 95% of Saipol’s industrial waste is recovered through energy recovery, agricultural applications (such as fertiliser production), or recycling into new materials.<\/div><\/div>

    Water resources<\/strong><\/p>\n


    \n<\/strong>Saipol’s S\u00e8te production site, in partnership with S\u00e8te Agglop\u00f4le M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e, has launched a project to replace 90 to 95% of the drinking water currently used with treated wastewater. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.<\/p>\n

    This major initiative will significantly reduce pressure on local drinking water resources while strengthening the resilience and continuity of the site’s industrial operations.<\/div><\/div><\/div>
